BAR HARBOR — The school committees in all the Mount Desert Island Regional School System towns are voting this month to take part in planning to replace the current school
Residents gathered at the Pemetic Elementary School gymnasium for the annual town meeting on Monday, May 2, and with little to no discussion, approved all articles on the warrant.
Voters will be asked to appropriate an additional $743,740 from the town’s reserves to fund the Main Street sidewalk project, which, due to rising costs, is now more expensive than anticipated.
Durlin Lunt, who has served as town manager here since 2010, said Tuesday that he isn’t ready to retire, but he is looking to cut back on some of his other commitments.
