The board utilized the Michigan Association of School Boards to conduct the superintendent search. According to a press release from the MASB, the interviews are the “beginning of a rigorous vetting process that will include a minimum of two rounds of public interviews as well as thorough background and reference checks.”

Dr. Parks earned her bachelor of science in 2014 and her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018 from Michigan State University. She is currently completing her residency at Beaumont Health in Troy, Michigan, and will graduate this June. Dr. Parks and her husband, Mitchell, are excited to make Harbor Beach home. No stranger to a rural community, Dr. Parks grew up on a dairy and cash crop farm in Corunna. Growing up, she was very active in the agriculture community and participated in both 4H and FFA. Dr. Parks and Mitchell will be relocating to the area after her graduation. Although I have enjoyed my time spent in busy southeast Michigan, said Parks, I am looking forward to returning to a rural community.
