Heichal HaTorah Expands Leadership Team By Jewish Link Staff | May 13, 2021 When Heichal HaTorah began eight years ago with 17 ninth-grade students, Rav Aryeh Stechler, the founding rosh yeshiva, was the only full-time administrator. Rav Stechler coordinated all aspects of the yeshiva, assisted by a small group of lay leaders led by Yehuda and Yael Jacoby. Heading into its ninth year, the yeshiva has expanded enormously: Over 235 talmidim are expected to enroll 185 talmidim in the high school and over 50 talmidim studying in its post-Israel Yeshiva and College Institute. Judge Ram Winograd of the Jerusalem District Court Judge Ram Winograd of the Jerusalem District Court on Sunday rejected the request of a group of disabled people and the right-wing human rights organization B’Tsalmo to submit a friend of the court brief in the case of the construction of access to the handicapped at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The defense ministry approved the plan to provide handicapped access to the Cave of the Patriarchs, but the Jordanian Waqf, together with (convicted terrorist who murdered six Jews in 1980 and later became) Hebron Mayor Tayseer Abu Sneineh, petitioned the Jerusalem District Court in its capacity as an Administrative Court to block access project.

Moshe “Moshko” Moskowitz (L), Shlomo Ne’eman (R) The Jewish People and the State of Israel lost a true giant this week with the passing of Moshe “Moshko” Moskowitz Z”L, who died at the age of 96. For more than eight decades, and even before the establishment of the State, Moshko dedicated his life to fighting for the Land of Israel, establishing Jewish communities, building educational institutions and Torah centers, and much more. Moshko was synonymously tied to the Gush Etzion bloc, as at the age of 20, he was part of the core group of pioneers who founded the community of Masu’ot Yitzhak in 1945. When Gush Etzion fell at the beginning of the war of Independence, Moshko was on a mission to Cyprus, assisting Jewish families in internment camps immigrate to Israel, despite the ban imposed by the British on Jewish immigration.
