There are still plenty of hurdles for the Fire to overcome before they build a state-of-the-art performance center within city limits, but their coach and midfielder Fabian Herbers are excited by the idea of the project.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lindsay McShane and Sydney Guthrie-Baker competed in the Titan Invite on Friday, finishing with strong performances across the board.
McShane set a new Hanson Stadium record in the hammer throw with a distance of 63.10m for first-place, besting the previous record of 58.73m. The redshirt senior earned another first-place finish in the discus with a throw of 45.31m.
Guthrie-Baker finished one spot back of McShane in the hammer throw, posting a distance of 57.55m. The senior thrower notched a shot put of 13.14m to finish first.
Next up: The Beavers will compete Saturday at the Lewis and Clark Invitational in Portland, Ore. Events are set to begin at 11 am (PT).
