By Taiye Olayemi Lagos, Feb.12, 2021 The Niger Government and Ukpa Energy Company Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for converting municipal solid waste to wealth and generating electricity for use in Niger state. This is disclosed in a statement signed by Sotonye Russell, Head of Administration and Finance, Ukpa Energy Company Limited. It said under the agreement, the Niger government was an equity partner in the proposed Independent Power Plant, to be sited in Bonu village, Gurara Local Government Area of the State. According to the statement, the state government had provided an equity of 15 hectares of land for the project.
