American people are. They want to see something done. If the senate is not able to place, peal or repeal in senator mcconnell has said they will have to work with democrats to shore up the individual marketplace this year. Do you think the house could pass something to shore up the individual marketplace . Are those conversations taking place in the house . I think failure is not an option. As President Trump said, we need to stay here until we get it done. We had done in the house. Beyond that, i dont think bailing out obamacare and funding a program that is in a death spiral is the right way to help the American People. I would have a hard time supporting legislation like that. What i want us to do is to keep our promise to the American People, repeal obamacare and replace it. President trump said congress should stay through august it a bill does not get passed. Do you agree . I think we do need to stay until we get major legislation passed. We have a lot left to do this year. We nee
Section five was a pretty effective check on minority vote dilution in these places. It did impose some burdens on state and roque government. I wouldnt local government. I wouldnt deny that. But they were modest burdens, certainly in comparison to the burden of actually martialing the expert evidence necessary to bring or to defend against a Voting Rights lawsuit. So i do think that something important was lost by the elimination, effectively, of preclearance spending, and i may disagree on that point. But i do think we agree that thats, for better or for worse, the main work that the section five preclearance requirement was doing before Shelby County. And i think whats interesting is the burden of proof almost always is on the plaintiff in an election case. So i think in most of the countries that we work around the world, the person filing the complaint has to prove the claim by the standard of evidence. And as weve all known, how does that plaintiff get access to the evidence they
To russia, mike mcfall, became one of the most followed twitter voices in russia because he would, he would be sharing, you know, went to a basketball game with my kids, met with the human rights activist, and it was a way of getting the message out especially when youre in countries that try to control what the United States ambassador or a secretary of state can communicate to the public. So it was both a tool to convey information, but also it became a source of information. What are people saying on social media about the United States, about our policies . And then we saw through the era of the arab uprisings how many of those were catalyzed and organized by social media. So we have to be on social media. There isnt any choice. The other piece that i focused on was how we did, how we debated and tried to check mate jihadist groups, particularly alqaeda and atill yates like alqaeda affiliated like alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula or alshabaab or any of the other groups. They were u

Whats the cost of this . Its very hard to measure but i can tell you that its not cheaper for corporations to raise capital in the stock job t how to take money for middleclass people and transfer it themselves rich people. So what does that do . And compromises our educational system. Some people on wall street. It perverts their ambition and it creates this is a moral problem. Its a technic this problem and what you get in the end is what we have right now, which is a Financial System that nobody trusts, that can persuade to be trusted because they watch what they did in a financial crisis and whose interest are completely out of line. We dont want that relationship. Society cant function if the interest underlined because then what you get is people with money influencing it, influencing the political process, the direction of regulation and you get to that cant collaborate and thats the problem we are facing. This is a microcosm of the problem so yes we are only losing a penny but
