Vietnam confirms eight more Covid-19 community transmissions

The Health Ministry confirmed six domestic Covid-19 cases in Vinh Phuc on Sunday evening and two in Ha Nam, taking the country s total in the past four days to 24. Patient 2950 and Patient 2951 are F1 cases of Covid-19 patients linked to a Ha Nam man who returned from Japan and tested positive after completing his two-week centralized quarantine in Da Nang City.
Vietnam kicks off largest-ever vaccination campaign VNA
Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam has launched its largest-ever vaccination campaign, with more than 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to be injected.
Vaccinations began on March 8 at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and also in northern Hai Duong province, where the third coronavirus outbreak in the country struck in late January.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) said that with 117,600 doses in the first batch delivered in late February, this first phase was the beginning of the largest vaccination campaign in the country’s history.

Vietnam begins COVID-19 vaccination on March 8
Vietnam launches its COVID-19 inoculation drive on March 8 morning, administering the AstraZeneca vaccine to medical workers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and northern Hai Duong province – the country’s biggest pandemic hotspot at present.
The vaccination is conducted at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and two medical centres in Hai Duong.
As many as 100 staff members of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases are expected to receive the shots in the morning of March 8. The hospital is allocated 450 doses among the first batch of 117,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine the country has received.
