HANNIBAL â Members of the Hannibal School District staff who are showing COVID-19 symptoms can now find out sooner if they indeed have the virus.
Susan Johnson, superintendent of the Hannibal School District, reported to the school board earlier this month that rapid testing for the coronavirus is now available to district staff members who are showing symptoms.
âIt has worked out really well,â Johnson said. âIt helps staff if they are not positive for COVID to know so we can proceed accordingly and keep them in the classroom if they donât need to be out.â
Johnson reported more than 100 members of the school district have already received a COVID vaccination shot.
Hannibal agriculture students work toward State Fair scholarship

HANNIBAL, MO. (WGEM) Officials in the Hannibal School District say they re working to help their students apply for the Missouri State Fair s Youth in Agriculture Scholarship.
With $68,500 available for only 40 high school seniors, instructors said they want their senior FFA students to have all the skills needed to apply.
In addition to being high school seniors and active members of Missouri 4-H or FFA, students are also required to have participated at least once as a 4-H or FFA exhibitor at the State Fair.
Agriculture instructor Derek Greenig said his goal is to help students thrive.
