Hannah Sheffield of Bossier City was fatally shot while driving her car Saturday, April 10. Nearly two weeks later, an arrest was made in her case.
Bossier City police have charged a man in connection with the killing. Demetrius McCoy, 30, of Bossier City, was charged with first-degree murder this week in connection with the slaying of Sheffield.
Police said Sheffield, 29, was driving her car that Saturday evening when McCoy fired a handgun at the vehicle. Detectives said Sheffield was not the intended target.
“She left a void and not just in our family but in quite a few,” said family friend Alexis Schmaltz, wife of City Light Church lead pastor Ben Schmaltz.
