Lasell University s Fall Career Readiness Symposium featured presentations of research, visual art and two Newton students.
Billy Straughan, of Newton, was a member of the university s course on Black Psychology and helped to organize African Diaspora Day educational activities for the symposium. Straughan presented a series of education stations as a virtual method of sharing takeaways with attendees.
Fred Gjerasi, of West Newton, participated on a panel of junior-year Lasell Works students. They shared anecdotes from and answered questions about their year of work experience in Lasell Works Sophomore Year Experience, which requires students to pair part-time work experience with online professional development courses.
