Reagan Trzop of Nelson County and Hala Abul-Khoudoud of Russell partnered up for a committee during last week s National High School Model United Nations. Abul-Khoudoud is looking to start a MUN program at her school and participating in the large event with the Nelson students will help prepare her. NHSMUN is the largest Model United Nations conference for high school students and is in its 47th year of providing an opportunity for students to “experience the theory and practice of international relations,” according to its site. MUNs allow students to take on the roles of UN delegates, representing various countries and non-governmental organizations and debating current world issues.
