Christine L. Philbrook Robbins, age 89, passed away on April 7, 2021 at Waldo County General Hospital, following a stroke while residing at Harbor Hill in Belfast for a short time.
Christine was born on July 13, 1931 to Bernice (Morey) and Arthur Philbrook. Christine was one of eleven children born to Arthur and Bernice. She grew up in Appleton and attended early years at Burkettville School and later at the Appleton Village School. She graduated from the Appleton Village High School in 1950.
Christine married Neil R. Robbins on May 12, 1951. In the early years of their marriage they built their home where they resided for nearly 70 years for their entire married life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and nana pouring her love out to those who were around her. APPLETON Neil R. Robbins, age 90, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, from a long time illness of COPD at the Sussman House in Rockport, Maine.
Neil was born in Appleton on March 11, 1930 to Robie and Frances (Kenney) Robbins. Neil attended the Appleton Village School.
He married Christine Philbrook on May 12, 1951. In the early years of their marriage, he built their home where they have resided their entire married life. As the grandchildren arrived, Neil was known as “Pa” and that carried on with others as well.
Neil had many jobs in his lifetime. He was a welder for Bridge Construction in Windsor for over 30+ years. After leaving his welding career behind, he went into business for himself with his shiny red dump truck and tractor. He served as Road Commissioner for the town of Appleton for a period of years. He also worked for DOT and his last working years as a delivery driver for Union Farm Equipment. He was a meticulous wood worker and made furn
