Given the Gamecocks' advantage on the glass and what that means for second-chance points (SC already has eight) and extended possessions, Oregon State needs to be great from range to stay in this game. So far, that has been what has kept it close. The Beavers are 4-of-9 from range while South Carolina has hit just 2-of-7. Still a five-point game midway through the second quarter, but Oregon State's foul troubles (Raegan Beers with two, Timea Gardiner with three) makes it feel like South Carolina could break this open if the Beavs don't continue to be great from beyond the arc.
Does it seem like this season’s freshman class is getting a lot of attention? There’s good reason for that. Several first-year players have been key cogs in their respective teams’ success thus far in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
