Officials say a man accused of killing nearly two dozen elderly women who was convicted last year of in the slayings of two has been killed by his cellmate in a Texas prison. Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Hannah Haney says 50-year-old Billy Chemirmir was found dead in his cell Tuesday morning. She said Chemirmir’s cellmate, who is serving a sentence for murder, was identified as the assailant, but did not identify the individual or how Chemirmir was killed. Chemirmir's first capital murder trial ended in mistrial. He was later convicted in a retrial in the death of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris and in a later trial in the death of 87-year-old Mary Brooks.
