Hannah Abram was given the oath of office for the new Stockton Town Board member on Feb. 9, the 200th anniversary of the town of Stockton being formed.
It was on Feb. 9, 1821, when the town of Stockton separated from the town of Chautauqua to form its own township.
David Wilson, town supervisor, used the 1881 Bible for administering the oath of office to Abram. Town clerk Kathryn Palmer read the oath.

CASSADAGA A Light Up Cassadaga celebration was recently held in the village.
Santa stopped by, arriving by the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department firetruck number 102. Santa’s arrival opened the winter weekend event. Santa said when he left the north pole, there was little snow on the ground and was surprised when he arrived in Cassadaga, as there is usually lots of snow. So since he was not able to use his eight reindeer, members of the fire department helped him out with a ride on the firetruck. Elf Sue and Elf Bonita helped Santa give out the gifts to the children.
