The FINANCIAL A study published in the journal Thorax has found that children experiencing social disadvantage in their first few years of life have a greatly increased risk of asthma persisting into adulthood. The study from University of Liverpool and Imperial College London researchers looked at the early life circumstances of thousands of UK children and their risk for persistent asthma as teenagers, using data from almost 7,500 children born in the UK between 2000-2002.
