We begin tonight in new mexico, where authorities have captured a fugitive suspect accused of gunning down a state trooper friday who tried to help the suspect. 33yearold jaremy smith is now in custody after authorities arrested him following a Police Pursuit and shootout in albuquerque. It happened when smith was spotted by a gas station clerk. All of this prompted an urgent manhunt this weekend and a chilling warning to communities to be on the lookout for the armed and dangerous suspected killer. Well, its significant because the Treasury Secretary is saying that as of early june, the federal government wont be able to pay its bills anymore. Its allowed by congress to borrow up to 31 trillion and change, but its going to hit that number next thursday. After that point, treasury is going to be looking under couch cushions to try to finds some additional money. It will be pinching pennies. And it says it will stop contributing or investing into some federal workers retirement accounts, to try to conserve some of that cash in order to avoid reaching that debt limit, or not being able to pay for allies and adversaries that hold the u. Last night, a large crowd of students there gathered in front of the Student Center on the quad to remember 19yearold Mccray Williams, a freshman lacrosse recruit. He had also been a standout athlete at a boarding school in the boston area. The headmaster of the school in the letter to students said williams died after suffering a severe head injury in a fall. The lehigh coroner found no signs of obvious injury and said williams did not have suicidal tendencies or any known health problems. Right now the college is cooperating with investigators.
