a seven year old boy who got into difficulties in the water near bournemouth has been telling her story, in the hope it will prevent a tragic accident. sarah farmer reports. nicola dorrington was on a family trip to alum chine beach. the sun was shining, the sea was calm. but something in the water wasn t right. a young boy was lying in the shallows, unnoticed by the beach goers around him. it could be, like, a shadow or it could be a toy or some seaweed. and then i looked again and i saw a hand underneath, and ijust felt like i had to go and see what it was. nicola pulled the boy from the water and screamed for help from the nearby lifeguards. he was unconscious, he was floppy, he had the foam coming out of his mouth, as i said, so ijust expected the worst. it almost felt like time had stood still. in my head it took ages for someone to get him, but it was seconds when someone grabbed him, but, yeah, it felt like a lifetime. the boy was treated and returned to his family.
yes, it s wonderful to try to help an animal, but don t risk any human life. we didn t have anything other than big waves. no undertow. we held the dolphin for quite some time. my hand underneath, i could feel the heart just racing. i mean, it was just it was really trying to get its breath, slow down. then we released that dolphin into a wave. it went under the wave and we were like, oh, this is great. it looked like it got his bearings, then grot lost for a moment or two, and then finally turned around and went back out. two dolphins on their way to where they belong. dolphins washes up in storm surge is not unusual but certainly a strange and actually exhilarating moment to know that we actually got those dolphins back out. a bunch of strangers all working together. i have to tell you, first of all, that s amazing. as we ve seen so many people coming together at times when help is needed, whether it s any range of things we have seen
it was a snide reference to the school superintendent as colonel klink, a character in the hogan s heros television series. a teacher in the school was once overheard referring to the superintendent in this way. her name was paula nawrocki. like joanne chambers, she also taught first grade and had worked in the school district for 189 18 years. i was totally surprised. i was positive that it wasn t anybody in the building, that it could be explained in some other way. the letters continued, but soon there were other incidents. the first was something joanne chambers found under her desk. i went to start my lesson with my children and sat down at a chair and had a dress on and put my hand underneath to straighten my dress out. i was covered with feces.

state s exhibit 77, mr. manalo, before the police got out there. where are the victim s hands? but under his body? what did the defendant claim to you? he used police jargon in terms of suspect and the police, of course, they always spread out the arms, hands, to make sure there s no weapon there. he s trying to tell police what happened is he was squared at one point i thought he had something in his hands and i was checking for that weapon. that s what i was doing. seems consistent with the physical evidence out there. the defense may argue, hold on, didn t dr. di maio say you could take out a person s heart and could live for 15 seconds and the person could walk and do all this stuff? you take out his heart and the moves them and spreads out his hand and taking more blood pumping out. the victim happens to lift himself up and put the hand
