somebody lost a job. somebody ran off or died. and this life that had been going along pretty good just suddenly starts tumbling off a cliff. and that bankruptcy is their handhold on the way down. and what happened over times, my politics shifted. warren is offered a tenured position at harvard law school in 1995. stepping into a world few women enter. one time elizabeth invited us to have lunch at the harvard faculty club. and i d never been there before. you sort of look around and you say, real we re the only wo here. the 1980s and 90s are a time when more and more americans go broke. the ivy league professor is asked sit on a commission to review bankruptcy laws in 1995. it starts with flat wages, goes to rising healthcare costs. rising housing coasts.
respectfully, is that i felt they were very biased against roger when i was in there. i felt that they re going after roger. if we had a justice system that said that witnesses could decide the guilt or innocence of any particular individual, and therefore not cooperate, and make that legally permissible, essentially we would not have any system at all. what do you say to her point that it s not your call? i say one, you re right. and here s what i also say. there s always a reason that the democrats don t get tried and the republicans do. now, you re going to laugh at me. i m going to definitely laugh. you are going to laugh at me. yes, i am, i am. you explain to me why she didn t get indicted. she hid her e-mails. i m going to use moderator s privilege and say you re changing the topic. the question, the reason you re here is you seem to be taking a position that is befuddling and
this and the procedures that you re watching so far today and how they handled this protester, what are some of the insights you have? well, just that jim had mentioned it s a very professional police response, the patience they ve demonstrated has been key to this whole approach. but one of the things, as i look at the video that i think to myself, if i was one of the officers responding, you ve got to sit there and think, well, the world is watching me, here s this individual who s putting him or herself at risk, and putting ourselves at risk. this is not a tv studio that s happening out here. you could slip, you could fall, you could be injured. and just because this individual wants to make a point, the other thing i m thinking about is that this guy got or this girl got so much attention. yeah. doing this. so will it encourage other people to try to do these same types of things? and every time they do, they put themselves and the responding officers at risk. right, and,

these two are blazing the trail for everyone. i ve never seen anything like it. i know we keep saying it. i thought they were going to skip out of camera when they had their hands together. the hand hold was impressive. a selfless survivor of the las vegas massacre donating money that was raised for him to help others in need. that incredible story next. also a teenage gun violent survivor returns to the emergency room later as a trauma surgeon, what a story? it s today s turning points. the thing that i loved the most about what we do is being able to give patients a second chance and resonates with me as a victim of gun violence. at the age of 17, you nearly died after a .38 caliber bullet ripped through my throat and ended up on my shoulder. i had a rupture of my windpipe
