The cherry tree grove, planted in Robert T. Matsui Park along the Sacramento riverfront, broke ground this past week and will open fully to the public in 2024.
The Hanami Line cherry blossom park is bringing the beauty of Japan to Sacramento. The Sacramento Tree Foundation broke ground for what will soon be 100 new trees, a multi-million dollar project expected to transform the Sacramento Waterfront.
The project is slated to be completed by 2024 and will attempt to connect Sacramento's love of trees with the rich cultural heritage of the region along the Sacramento River.
