KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 Another Terengganu executive councillor has been compounded RM2,000 for violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Aidilfitri under the movement control order (MCO).
State Welfare, Women Development, Family and National Unity Committee chairman Hanafiah Mat was compounded after giving his statement at the Kemaman district police headquarters last night.
Kemaman district police chief Supt Hanyan Ramlan said Hanafiah, who is also Chukai state assemblyman, was found visiting several homes on the first day of Aidilfitri, which was then viralled on social media.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government will give out the cash aid of RM500 to each head of household affected by the recent floods in the state by Feb 15.
State Welfare, Women’s and Family Development and National Unity Committee chairman, Hanafiah Mat said the distribution was being processed and data of the recipients updated due to additional victims from the fifth wave of floods which ended on Jan 11.
“The aid was initially scheduled to be channelled on Jan 15 but unfortunately, the data were not complete yet while we were still in a state of preparedness for any flood which could happen soon,“ he told
