The creation of a business district in Bethalto a couple of years ago has helped fund an account for facade improvements. The account will help five more businesses pay for visual improvements to their locations, as the village board approved the grant applications at their meeting on Monday.

Businesses receiving grants following this week’s meeting are Han-Dee Mart, Leisure World, Dugger Pools, The Gateway Group (real estate), and The Weather Vane ice cream shop.
