The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has dispatched two helicopters and operatives for the rescue of about 317 abducted schoolgirls in Jangebe, Zamfara State.
The IG also disclosed that the military, police and the Department of State Services operatives have commenced a coordinated search towards the rescue of the schoolgirls.
Suspected bandits in Hilux vehicles and a number of motorcycles had, on Friday, kidnapped over 300 students of Government Secondary School, Jangebe in the Talatar Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The youths are demanding the immediate sack of General Babagana Monguno, rtd, the National Security Adviser.
The Northern youths wondered how the bandits could have carried out the attack and abducted over 300 students in the school located less than 100 metres to a military checkpoint.
NYM accused the military of complicity in a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Ishaya Jato in Abuja on Friday, and made available to DAILY POST.
According to the youths, it was becoming clearer that some heads of security agencies such as the military authority will not want banditry in the North-West and Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East to end.

Seventeen out of the twenty-six members of the Ogun State House of Assembly are said to have signed a letter requesting the commencement of the impeachment process against the Deputy Speaker, Hon Dare Kadiri.
The lawmakers, according to the letter, said Hon Dare Kadiri has acted in “disregard to the ethics of the Assembly tantamount to gross misconduct”.
Hon Kadiri was said to have “committed insubordination to the Speaker of the House through an unauthorized self approval of expenditure”.
He was also alleged of involving “an external body – Oludare Adejare Esq – Legal practitioners in the affairs of the House without exploring all internal mechanism for amicable resolution of the issue”.
