‘Efforts afoot to make Islamabad safe city’

Islamabad : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Syed Mustafa Tanweer on Tuesday said efforts were afoot to make Islamabad the safest city as it was foremost priority of the federal capital police.
Following directions SP (Saddar-Zone) Capt. (r) Hamza Hamayun constituted special teams under supervision of DSP Sajjad Bukari including SHO Sub-Inspector Asim Ghafar and others. This team arrested a wanted member of a bike lifter gang identified as Asad Ali and recovered two stolen motorbikes from him. While the police team arrested accused Kamran and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.

Islamabad: Islamabad Police have arrested eight accused and recovered stolen cash and narcotics from their possession, a police spokesman said on Friday.
According to the details, SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime in the city.
Following these directions, SP (Saddar-Zone) Captain (r) Hamza Hamayun constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Sajjad Bukhari including SHO Golra Sub-Inspector Fazal Khaliq and other officials which successfully arrested the wanted member of the gang later identified as Qais Khan and also recovered stolen cash Rs550,000 from him. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway from him.

Police along with other law enforcement agencies rounded up more than 60 members of a banned outfit during a crackdown launched in the district, said a police spokesman on Saturday.
Attock District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani said police were fully prepared to maintain a peaceful environment in the district. He said no one will be allowed to create anarchy and challenge the writ of the state.
The official added that all efforts were being made to ensure the safety of the people and maintain law and order.
ISLAMABAD: A student was stabbed to death while five others were injured in a clash between two student groups of a university here on Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Haq while the injured were identified as Ihtasham, Sajjad, Assghar and Rasheed. The fifth injured student could not be identified as he left the hospital early. The incident took place outside National University of Modern Languages (Numl) shortly after evening classes were concluded.
An officer told Dawn on condition of anonymity that according to security guards of the university, a group of students had been waiting for their rivals outside its premises and attacked them as soon as they came outside.
