Saim Shazli stands proud with his glittering trophy. He has just won the prestigious Sindh Amateur Golf Championship title at the Karachi Golf Club. This is his second title of the season after having won the CAS Open amateur trophy at the Airmen Golf Club, also in Karachi. For several years, the big-hitting Saim had been a leading amateur in Pakistan but this is for the first time he has actually won ranking events.
The reason? For years, top amateurs of the country had been competing and falling short against professionals in national ranking amateur competitions.

For sure, he did.
Ahmed stormed to victory at the DHA Karachi Cup All Pakistan Golf Championship on Sunday as he emphatically turning a two-stroke deficit into a six-shot margin of victory, leaving his rivals trailing in his wake.
The 22-year-old sensation was so good at the Defence Authority Golf and Country Club that once he got into the lead, no one really stood a chance.

KARACHI: Ahmed Baig on Sunday fired a stunning round of seven-under-par 65 to win the DHA Karachi Cup All Pakistan Golf Championship here at the Defence Authority Country and Golf Club.
Lahore’s Ahmed, who was in third place behind overnight leader Muhammad Ashfaq and second-placed Muhammad Alam at the start of the final round was in top gear as he made a series of birdies to win the title by a big six-shot margin.
Ashfaq, who was at the top of the leader-board after the first two rounds, was unable to click when it mattered the most and fell out of the race for the title midway into the final round.
