Community School receives grants to feed community during COVID
December 12, 2020TAMWORTH Three major grants have been awarded to The Community School in support of its important work to feed people in need during the pandemic. The New Hampshire Charitable Fund (NHCF), Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB), and Randy Hilman Homes of Moultonborough have each donated grants which offset the by-donation nature of this meals program, making continuation of this food sharing possible.
In March, when students were required to begin learning from home due to the initial round of COVID-19 outbreaks, school director Lianne Prentice began using her time and the school s kitchen and freezers of local meats and produce to cook meals for the Tamworth and Sandwich community members being hit by what became a global pandemic.
