for 42-year-old david depape, an illegal immigrant from canada accused of breaking into the pelosi home one week ago and viciously attacking 82-year-old paul pelosi with a hammer. he will not be in court today but tuesday he pleaded not guilty to many felony charges. the d.a. s motion to keep him locked up describes in detail how pelosi and his assailant struggled over a hammer, even after police arrived at the home. quote, the defendant wrenched the hammer away, striking mr. pelosi in the head at full force with the hammer. mr. pelosi remained unresponsive for three minutes waking up in a pool of his own blood. the defendant told police he meant the talk to pelosi s wife and if speaker pelosi lied to him he intended to break her kneecaps. as it was the attack left paul pelosi with a fractured skull and other serious injuries.
