Staff at Barry’s Barbers in Gladstone Street, Darlington have been cutting hair for 65 years – and after weathering the Covid-19 crisis, is ready to reopen on April 12. Just this year Barry Waddle’s son Gary, who now owns the barbers, found an old medal belonging to his father from when he fought in the Karate World Championship in 1966. He fought against Hamish Telfer Adam, who is the current chairman of the Scottish Karate Federation.
