Construction nears for new Early Head Start center in Hamilton
Updated Dec 22, 2020;
Construction is expected to begin later this month or early next month
on the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey’s new Early Head Start center in Hamilton, with hopes the facility will be completed by July and operational in time for the 2021/2022 school year.
CHSofNJ was awarded a federal grant to expand its Early Head Start center-based program and used the funds to purchase a building at 1435 Liberty St. that previously housed an adult day center. Extensive renovations will update the property on the border of Hamilton and Trenton to deliver care and education for 80 infants, toddlers and their families and provide office space for the program’s home visitors, who will serve an additional 147 infants, toddlers, and pregnant women.
