Man Dies In Boating Incident On Chickamauga Lake Saturday, May 1, 2021
A 62-year-old Sale Creek man kayaking alone was spotted by a family member floating unconscious in over 10 feet of water on Chickamauga Lake. It was near the Patterson Road access area of Sale Creek.
TWRA officers, Sale Creek Fire Department and Hamilton County Sheriff s Office responded to the call around 3 p.m. Saturday.
Water temperature in this area is around 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
The name will be released when next of kin are notified.

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said that a man was found dead on Chickamauga Lake Saturday afternoon.
They said officers received a call around 3 p.m. about a man in the water. The Sale Creek Fire Department and Hamilton County Sheriff s Office responded to the call, officials said.
They said a 62-year-old man from Sale Creek was kayaking alone and was seen by a family member unconscious and floating in over 10 feet of water, according to a release from officials.

Chattanooga Police Homicide Investigators were notified that Deed Carroll, the victim in the Nov. 19, shooting that occurred at 1900 Maple Hills Way, has succumbed to his injuries.
The notification was made by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner s Office.
The suspect, 24-year-old Markious Sims, is now charged with criminal homicide instead of attempted criminal homicide. Sims is already in custody at the Silverdale Detention Center. Police earlier said the victim was on life support with no brain function.
The victim s girlfriend told police that he was off his meds and believed she was sleeping with the neighbor s boyfriend.
