TANK: The sector commander South inaugurated a water filtration plant at Qutab Colony here on Wednesday.
The people of Tank district are facing acute shortage of drinking water. They praised FC South for installing water filtration plants in various areas of the district.
The members of the civil society, Assistant Commissioner Hameed Afridi, DSP Rural Hussain Ghulam, SHO City Sabtain Khan and others attended the ceremony.

PESHAWAR: All Government Employees Grand Alliance has decided to stage a big demonstration on May 27 to press the government for accepting their demands.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the alliance, which was also attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professors and Lecturers Association’s president Abdul Hameed Afridi. In a statement, Hameed Afridi said that college teachers would gather at government college Peshawar and they would join the main protest in a big procession. He said that the leading demands of government employees were provision of 25 percent allowance, increase in salaries with proportion to hike in prices and revision of pay scale.

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said the PTI-led government is facing no threat from the opposition rallies or pressure from any side and the whole drama is being staged for Senate elections, which the government intends to hold earlier than schedule.
He said the government has approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan to hold the upcoming Senate elections via a “show of hands”. Speaking to reporters here, Imran Khan said elections for the Upper House would be held earlier than planned and that he had been given a detailed briefing on the matter by Attorney General for Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan.
