Students at a total of 72 schools are missing their final day of classes before the holiday break due to closures related to COVID-19 outbreaks or operational reasons related to the pandemic.

As well, the public health unit says it expects to make vaccine appointments available to anyone 16 years of age and older, regardless of postal code, as of Wednesday, May 19. This will be dependent entirely on vaccine supply. The region has been accepting appointments for those 40 and up as well as 50 and up who cannot work from home.
