Quilts
Quilts by Lucyle Jewett, Halstead’s nationally known quilt maker who was featured in the book Uncoverings 1997 published by the American Quilt Study Group, are displayed. Other quilts featured are by other Jewett family members with Quaker backgrounds that include Rachel Adella Jewett, Lucyle’s mother, and her grandmother, Hannah Little Smith. These quilts showcase exquisite quilting stitches, unmatched applique techniques and flawless piecing. An 1893 friendship quilt from the Fairview Quaker community, signed by thirty local women, is also available for viewing.
