Oswald Ingraham remembered as a patriotic man of God
James Oswald Ingraham, a former member of Parliament, speaker of the House of Assembly, and deputy to the governor general, was remembered yesterday by colleagues as a patriotic, community-minded and fair leader.
Former Prime Minister Perry Christie said Ingraham was a Christian, businessman and community leader, who served his Eleuthera home in an “excellent way”.
“So, Oswald, in any way we wish to define him, when he became a political representative, had already had incredible success in his life,” he said outside the House of Assembly, where Ingraham’s body was lying in state.
