The community-based housing association has lodged plans for 66 homes on a disused north Liverpool site.
The Eldonian Green proposals, designed by Halsall Lloyd Partnership, outline three blocks of up to four storeys on a thin plot of land off Love Lane in Vauxhall, between existing housing and the arches below the railway line heading north from the city centre.
According to planning documents, the 1.3-acre site has been vacant for 30 years and is cleared and fenced off.
Eldonian’s proposal is for 66 apartments: 41 of them one-bedroom and 25 two-bedroom – all designed as live-work units. The objectives of the project include fulfilling a need among local young people for housing; providing live-work units, providing a gateway to the Ten Streets regeneration area and creating an interface between the rear of the Eldonian Village’s second phase and the industrial areas to its west.
