The whale bones will be lowered to the ground for safe public viewing this month as the metal structures supporting Ms. Blue have deteriorated to an unsafe condition. The Seymour Marine Discovery Center announced that the aging metal structures that support the blue whale skeleton on display outside of the center, known as “Ms. Blue,” are unsafe and will be dismantled, and the skeleton lowered to the ground. An event celebrating the history of the skeleton is scheduled early next month.
