IPOH (Bernama): Two businessmen were charged in the Sessions Court here Thursday (Oct 21) with giving false information on their identity cards by using Kediaman Diraja Istana Kinta as their address.
Mohamad Halmi Waramejini, 55, pleaded not guilty at a Sessions Court here yesterday.
According to the charge sheet, he had displayed the item containing the title of “Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak – Dato’ Seri (SPMP)” without written permission from the Sultan of Perak.
The item was displayed on a Proton X70 on June 4 in Jalan Caranday Park, Setia Tropika, here.

The charge came under Section 17 of the Offences Relating to Awards Act that was read together with Section 3(1)(d) of the Perak Emblem, Title and Award (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2016.
JOHOR BARU: A 55-year-old businessman has been charged with displaying an item containing a royal instrument of appointment without permission on his vehicle, giving the impression that he holds a Datuk Seri title.
Mohamad Halmi Waramejini, 55, who lives in Johor Baru, pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him in front of Sessions Court judge Wan Mohd Norisham Wan Yaakob here on Monday (July 12).
According to the charge sheet, the accused displayed an item that contained the title of Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak – Dato’ Seri without the written permission from His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak.
