(ABC News: Brant Cumming) A Country Fire Service volunteer of more than 35 years has been remanded in custody with prosecutors alleging he was drunk when he started several bushfires in Adelaide s south that destroyed two homes and nearly 3,000 hectares. Gregory John McGannon faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court charged with 12 counts of intentionally causing a bushfire and 10 counts of property damage in January. He is accused of lighting bushfires on Hicks Hill Road at Cherry Gardens, Mathews Road and Mount Bold Road at Bradbury and Dorset Vale and Cut Hill Road at Kangarilla.

Date Time Police wishing to identify witness to hills fire, South Australia Police are seeking help to identify a potential witness to a deliberately lit fire at Clarendon earlier this year. Just after 6pm on Sunday 24 of January, a grass fire was deliberately lit on Piggott Range Road. The driver of a white Hyundai sedan, a 61-year-old man from Hallett Cove was arrested and charged with intentionally causing a bushfire and has been remanded in custody. Police want to speak with the woman pictured driving a red Mazda 3 sedan south along Piggott Range Road around the time of the fire as investigators believe she is a witness and may have information that could assist.
