Powerful winds taking down trees in the town of monson. In some places, there was so much debris that roads had to be blocked off. This is the same town devastated by a tornado back in 2011. Looks like most of that weather has moved out of area. Thats right. The cold front that brought us the rain and the heavy winds pushing well to the south. High pressure building in. You notice around High Pressure the winds go clockwise so we do developed. Persistent out there. Youre going to feel them when you step outside the door first thing this morning. Clouds. Still have a little bit around the cape and the islands but beginning to finally clear things out. We should see full sunshine once we get to the afternoon. High pressure is building in which means we are going to see lots of sunshine as we go through the day. Now were starting in the 50s in boston as well as on the cape and islands. It gets better, and better, free clear skies, you can see through the morning, you can see the clouds melting away after get weather and thunderstorms last night. High pressure will settle in for the weekend, this will eventually mean a warming trend for us, not so much for today, sunshine. That could make the temperatures feel 510 degrees warmer when you step in that sunlight. Mid40s as you get into bedford, worcester at 42 right now. A cool morning, but it feels even chillier because we still have winds kicking out of the northwest. Those winds will eventually relax out of the afternoon, crisp and cool for us, 5560, but again enjoy that sunshine. I will mention the warming trend.
