So the good news is, if you want to try these BEST sandwiches in America, you won’t have to drive across the country because two of the BEST are right here in the Garden State.
Wow, so what would I say is the best sandwich? I guess it would depend on what day you ask me. Some days a ham and cheese sandwich is my favorite and possibly some days I would definitely say chicken salad. Lately I have been on a chicken salad kick. Chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, onion, sweet peppers, pepper and pepper-jack cheese…that is a fantastic sandwich.

You could argue that delis are New Jersey’s greatest culinary treasure. Italian delis, Jewish delis, Polish delis, delis of all shapes and sizes populate the Garden State. Delis have it all: sandwiches, wraps, burgers, breakfast, salads, soups and so much more.
If your town does not have a deli, maybe you should consider moving?
We did not include places that are predominantly sub/hoagie shops, concentrating on delis that go beyond sub/hoagies to include sandwiches and dishes of all types. The entries are marked PG for Pete and JS for Jeremy, so you know who wrote what.
