OPP officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment stand outside the Highlands Pharmacy, located on Highland Street, following a robbery that happened close to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 in Haliburton. The OPP reported two unknown masked suspects entered the business armed with a firearm. The suspects demanded and received narcotics, then fled the scene. The employees were not injured. The OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Canine, Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) were called to assist. The pharmacy re-opened the next day. The incident is still under investigation.
