ATM has questioned why acting Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka let President Cyril Ramaphosa off the hook despite “clear evidence” that he had violated the Constitution and other laws in the way he conducted his game farm business interests and the manner in which he dealt with the Phala Phala money theft scandal.
During his maiden question and answer session in Parliament on Thursday afternoon, Deputy President Paul Mashatile appealed for the patience of opposition parties to allow external investigations to run their course.
A 191-page report cleared the president of any wrongdoing, with the acting public protector finding no basis to conclude that he contravened the Executive Ethics Code.
