Syracuse, NY Private and public security cameras cover nearly every square inch of East Fayette Street in front of the blocks-long Parkside Commons apartment complex.
Those cameras caught the murder of Hakeem Phillips, 31, on Oct. 23, 2020 in the 2000 block of East Fayette. And a suspect was identified from that video, a Syracuse police investigator revealed Wednesday.

Syracuse, N.Y. Chariel Osorio stood in front of his Near West Side home with a smile on his face and a diploma in his hands.
It was a sunny June day, and Osorio had just graduated from Corcoran High School. The 17-year-old boy, still clad in his shiny maroon graduation cap and gown, posed for a photo proudly showing off his new degree.
Six hours later, Osorio was shot in the head.
