The number of active cases is till going on a 33-day uptrend.
A new record for ICU cases and patients which needs ventilators were also set today.

There were 1,480 new cases reported in the Klang Valley, followed by Sarawak (649) and Kelantan (329).
Kedah (224) appears to be moving towards a clear upward trend.
Throughout the country, almost one in four new cases were detected among those who are not linked to clusters or are close contacts of Covid-19 patients.
As of yesterday, the R-naught for the entire country was 1.11. The only regions where the R-naught was below 1.00 are Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah.

A government clerk was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Intermediate Court on Saturday, for forging Department of Electrical Services’ (DES) documents. Despite Haji Alias bin Haji Md Ali’s instant guilty pleas, Judge Pengiran Hajah Norismayanti binti Pengiran Haji Ismail noticed his lack of remorse and took a deterrent stance on deciding the sentence. 1:10 PM MYT BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan 31 (Borneo Bulletin): Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Salim Haji Besar encouraged a moderate wedding setting after the positive feedback from the public who got married during the Covid-19 outbreak with the Syariah Court offering to conduct the ceremony intimately at its premises during the early days of the epidemic’s outbreak.
The chief Syar’ie judge said this at the Syariah Court Annual Assembly for 1442 Hijrah/2021 yesterday.
He cited the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) where a moderate wedding ceremony is encouraged, and if followed, will ease financial difficulties, especially during a pandemic.
