Ryman Healthcare has named its new Hobsonville
retirement village in honour of one of New Zealand’s
finest military leaders and strategists, Sir Keith Park
(GCB, KBE, MC & Bar, DFC, Croix de Guerre, MA
(hon.)).
Sir Keith Park (1892-1975) was best known for
his leadership during the Royal Air Force’s (RAF’s) air
defence of London and South-east England during the Battle
of Britain in 1940.
Following the war Lord Tedder,
head of the RAF, said: “If ever any one man won the Battle
of Britain, he did. I don’t believe it is realised how
much that one man, with his leadership, his calm judgement

Dstl exchange officer inducted into United States Space Force
Captain Jake Singteton, a United States Air Force officer on secondment with the UK’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), has been inducted into the United States Space Force (USSF).
Captain Singleton attested his Oath of Office in a “virtual” ceremony attended by Air Vice Marshal Harv Smyth (UK Director Space), Col Charles Metrolis (Air Attaché, US Embassy, London), military and civilian colleagues and his family.
The newest branch of the U.S. armed forces, USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space.

PNS Tabuk reliving past history

PNS Tabuk, manufactured for Pakistan by the Dutch ship manufacturing company M/s Damen Shipyards, which built the corvette at its yard in Galati in Romania, has been inducted into the Pakistan Navy (PN) fleet.
M/s Damen signed the contract with Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence Production for two multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV), for PN on 30th June 2017 following a tender process. The facility has built nearly 40 vessels for the defence and security division, including the last seven complex naval vessels for the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Stefan cel Mare offshore patrol vessel, the flagship of the Romanian Border Police.
