The first spell of rain and thunderstorm may commence over Northwest India including parts of Punjab, Haryana, West and Northwest Rajasthan, Delhi and at isolated pockets of Northwest Uttar Pradesh on March 2nd.
Rainfall activity will be seen over northern parts of Punjab, Haryana, mostly foothills. Cities of Ambala, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Saharanpur, Panchkula, Chandigarh, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Ropad starting today.
Entire northern plains have been reeling under cold sting on account of low grade temperature. Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh have barely managed to stay in low teens, for nearly one week.
Thus, widespread rains are expected over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, even touching parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. These rains will begin on January 21, peaking on Jan 22 and then some rains on January 23 as well.
After the passage of Western disturbance ongoing rain activities over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and western parts of Madhya Pradesh will stop. Cloudy to overcast skies will give way to clear or partly cloudy Sky.
