Apr. 21 A determined Hailey Leslie sparked a signature District 5-AAA road victory for Walker Valley on Tuesday.
With a tied ball game in the top of the seventh, Leslie took the first pitch for a strike while leading off against Soddy-Daisy ace Taylor Lloyd. Leslie sent the next offering over the center field fence for the game-winning hit.
Leslie returned to the circle where all she needed was four pitches to close a 5-3 victory as the Lady Mustangs (20-7, 7-2) handed the Lady Trojans (12-4, 4-1) their first district loss of the season.
