Vigilantes rescue 5 from bandits in Kaduna village

Local vigilantes have rescued five persons abducted by bandits from Ungwan Makada in Dutsen Abba Ward, Zaria local government area of Kaduna state.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, said the armed bandits stormed the village and attacked the residence of Abdulazeez Sani, a Local Government Council member, and abducted his wife Samira Abdulazeez, two children Aliyu and Lawal Abdulazeez, and another woman, Halima M. Sani and her son.
He said the bandits also stole four motorcycles from the village.
“As the bandits made away with the hostages, they were intercepted by local vigilante members at Ungwan Mai Turmi village in Igabi local government area.”

Bandits on Friday reportedly opened fire on travellers along the Birnin-Gwari Road in Kaduna State, leading to the killing of six persons.
This is just as suspected bandits killed two persons and inflicted gunshot wounds on two women in Ugwan Makada in Dusten Abba Ward, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Also, two persons were killed in an auto crash and eight sustained serious injuries while drivers drove against traffic along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway on Friday.
In the Birnin-Gwari highway attack, it was learnt that the bandits opened fire on the vehicle people were travelling in and the driver lost control.

The Police in Ogun said it arrested one Wasiu Adegbenro, a trailer driver, for allegedly killing a tricycle rider, Oseni Semutu during a fight.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said the incident took place at Tipper Garage along Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway on Friday, NAN reports.
Oyeyemi said that fight broke out between the duo which resulted in Semutu’s death.
“In the course of the fight, Adegbenro gave Semutu a hard blow, he fell down and blood gushed out of his nose and mouth.
“Semutu was taken to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,’’ the PPRO said.
