KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC produced a scintillating brand of counter-attacking football to stun favourites and defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) 2-0 in the final of the prestigious Malaysia Cup and end their 32-year title drought at the National Stadium in Bukit.
However, Kedah’s form took an ascending turn following the resumption of football in Malaysia late August last year and Aidil eventually managed to guide his team to a second place finish in the Super League, which earned them an automatic spot in this year’s AFC Cup competition.
Recharged after the end of the 2020 season, Aidil is now bent on bringing home another trophy for the rebranded Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC for the 2021 campaign.
Fences also began to mend from a management point of view and with a new group being put in charge of the club, Aidil was persuaded to continue his project at Kedah, not least with plenty of persuasive power from the men and boys he’s in charge of.
This team has the right combination of experienced and young players that I think can do a good job for the team in the coming season. I want them to remember that the Super League will be different from the Premier League and we have to work hard to stay longer in the top flight. When I see how the team performed previously, whenever they returned to the Super League, they always ended up finishing bottom and droppping back down. So I don t want the same to repeat for Kuala Lumpur this time and I m hopeful to make them a stronger competitor.
