A construction worker who became trapped when a trench fell in on him, had to be rescued by the Forsyth County Fire Department on Tuesday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m. in the Habersham Gates subdivision off of Buford Hwy in Central Forsyth County, a private construction crew was working in the neighborhood when the trench collapsed, and a worker fell into the hole.
According to Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief
Jason Shivers, they were able to pull him out alive in a matter of minutes, but injured. “The good news is that the fire station is just yards away from the subdivision. The fire crews were able to get to him quickly and, no doubt, I believe it is their rapid response helped lead to a successful recovery.”
